Intern, Analytical Development

Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies U.S.A., Inc. is offering a summer internship for a college student majoring in Life Sciences or Chemical/Mechnical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering discipline. This position is in the Analytical Process Development group. We are looking for someone with basic biochemistry and bioinformatics knowledge. The individual will be working in our analytical and formulations development group. The student will use existing computational tools to develop and setup protocols to study protein properties and compare in silico estimations of physicochemical properties and stability with experimentally generated data. The student will develop and execute methodologies to study the effects of bioprocessing conditions including stressors using machine learning tools and quantitative structure property relationship (QSPR) models. This is a great opportunity to gain invaluable experience working for an industry-leading biopharmaceutical contract manufacturing organization.

Minimum requirements:

  • Must be a science major, preferably pursuing a degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Computational Biology or Bioinformatics
  • Experience or familiarity with bioinformatics software packages is preferable
  • Experience or familiarity with analytical methodologies for protein analysis such as electrophoresis, chromatography, spectroscopy is preferable
  • Basic math and software skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Good interpersonal skills
