Automation Engineering Intern

The engineering team at Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies in Morrisville, NC is looking for a part-time engineering intern that can support full time engineering staff with daily tasks relating to industrial automation systems as well as IT infrastructure support, to include servers and operating systems. This position will be for 15-20 hours per week. There is potential to go full-time in the summer.

The engineering candidate will support software and network connectivity issues as well as equipment PC hardware.  The candidate should possess a background in scripting (VBS preferably or Batch Command File). The candidate should also have a solid understanding of windows operating system (workstation and server if possible). The candidate will also feel comfortable creating Power Point slide presentations as troubleshooting guidelines for plant operators and for maintenance personnel.  The candidate will need a good understanding of Active Directory and Account Management.

We are seeking a motivated engineer candidate that is willing to support plant personnel in access systems as well as support with GMP documentation. This job will pave the way for a solid career in Industrial Automation.

Some of the daily activities will include:

  1. Support with system backups
  2. Support with drawing updates (Visio)
  3. Support with network wiring
  4. Support with PC hardware (hard drives, memory, power supplies…)
  5. Account management (Active Directory)
  6. PC upgrade projects
  7. Printer issues
  8. Depending on time, graphics or system improvements.

The candidate will be trained on all GMP procedures as well as automation systems.
